Summary/Abstract: The paper presents how the Battle of Marica and the death of the Serbian Emperor Stefan Uroš are presented in the works of Serbian medieval writers. We analyzed echoes of both events in narrative sources, such as old Serbian genealogies, annals, chronicles, and hagiographies, from the 14th to the 17th century. The paper also analyzes the contemporary works of monk Isiah and the historical work of Konstantin Mihailović from Ostrovica. The inaccuracy or scientific unreliability of specific data is pointed out, and the genesis of the legend about the murder of Emperor Uroš is explained.
