Summary/Abstract: The beginnings of disciplinary liability of Polish police officers date back to the period before the creation of an independent Polish state, and the first regulations were issued by a decree of the Regency Council in June 1918. The creation of state structures was accompanied by great enthusiasm of the nation, but also chaos, natural in such a situation, which made it possible to employ inappropriate units, which in the subsequent years of the police’s existence were removed from its ranks under disciplinary regulations. The presented text presents the process of creating and applying legal norms to its officers enabling them to be held accountable.
