Summary/Abstract: The number of all living languages, around 5.000, declines drastically because more languages die than develop. Endangered languages are all over the world. They are principally indigenous languages of Africa, North and South America and the Pacific where are skillfully attacked and pushed back by political, social and economic factors. Speakers of native languages are convinced that their mother tongue is barbarous, backward and incapable to follow the modern course of life. They start completely to believe in that going over to ''the more powerful'' language and accomplishing language murder or language suicide.
