Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the analysis of some of the European Court of Human Rights standards regarding the right to protest gathering, as a sublimate of freedom of expression and freedom of assembly. In this regard, there are presented clarifications of the notion of protest gatherings, scope of protection, and measures of restriction within the framework of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and the European Court’s case law.
