Summary/Abstract: The first part of the paper is a synthetic presentation of the most important assumptions of the sociology of non-knowledge. The sociology of non-knowledge is presented both as a scientific project that aims to track the social determinants of non-knowledge and as a scientific project that aims to understand the social need for non-knowledge and the functions that non-knowledge performs in society. The second part of the paper is an attempt to indicate the most important research tasks facing the sociology of non-knowledge today.
