Professional training of librarians

Summary/Abstract: The employees of the Central University Library of Timisoara have always been in constant interaction with the academic teachers of the University and the readers. The quality of the work of the employees of the Library Department (until 1992 under the University) depended on their expertise and professional skills. The variety of positions, in line with the diversity of the work carried out in the library, required employees with different educational backgrounds and qualifications. The university archive keeps summary information in the library files on the training of librarians. We intend to present some of the activities that contributed to the initiation, training and further development of librarians from 1948 to 1974.
