Summary/Abstract: This study explores a small segment of the poetic universe of composer Tudor Jarda, represented here by Stalactita (Stalactite) for mixed choir, as the first piece in the cycle Seven choirs on lyrics by Lucian Blaga. The analysis is centered on the morphological, syntactic and semantic role of the fifth as a generating musical gesture in the context of both the relations between the plane of expression and the content of musical writing, and the interaction between the musical and the literary code.
