“Generals of Spirit” by Rumyana Pencheva

Summary/Abstract: In the “Generals of Spirit” Rumyana Pencheva considers the problem of the participation of our cultural community in the Balkan, Second Balkan War and World War I. The participation of writers and other Bulgarian intellectuals as military correspondents is highlighted. The peculiarities of the military editions “Otechestvo” (“Fatherland”) magazine and “Voenni izvestiya” (“Military notices”) newspaper were outlined, as well as the work of colonel Alexander Ganchev, who is responsible for the cultural activities of the army.
