Summary/Abstract: Although less known, Mihail Gaşpar's work as a translator is important, because it shows his belonging, from this point of view, to a general tendency of the epoch. In that respect, he had both forerunners and models in all Romanian provinces. His translations prove his being involved in the effort of unifying the national culture.
