Summary/Abstract: In the present paper we are focusing on developing an analysis of the conceptual metaphors based on the notion of “fire”, present in the phraseological units. Among others, phraseological units are characterized by expressiveness, many of them being based on metaphorical conceptualizations of reality. The novelty consists of the comparative approach that we are aiming at: more precisely, the study focuses on analyzing the metaphors in two different languages, but which are in tight connection, on the one hand Romanian language, on the other Spanish language. Along the present study we will observe the way in which the element of nature is conceptualized in the two languages, with focus on existing similarities and differences of the notion, but also on the level of equivalence that it presents. In the first part of the article, we will present the theoretical frame that we are using as the basis of our theory, while in the second part, we will analyze metaphors that will be taken into consideration.
