Summary/Abstract: The text is dedicated to the satirical-humorous periodical press in the period between the First and the Second World war in Bulgaria. For the past around 200 years laughter is a theme that was engaged in humanitarian studies only impulsively, fragmentary, sporadically. These theme comes timidly in writings of authors such as Neophit Bozveli, Emmanuel Vaskidovich, Raino Popovich and Constantine Photinov in the second quarter of 19 century, at time when together with the enlightening ideas of the Bulgarian society, a new morality code was introduced, and the laughter as part of it was altogether acceptable, although carefully regulated.
