Control of reproduction as an element of social control

Summary/Abstract: This article deals with the issue of stigmatization of people terminating pregnancies, providing abortion services, seeking information on abortion or supporting the termination of pregnancy. The aim of this article is to answer the questions of how—according to the activists publishing on Instagram—the stigmatization occurs in the case of people who promote or undertake reproductive practices noncompliant with the prevalent norm; how the Instagramers deal with stigmatization; how they define reproductive control and how they experience it. The answers to these questions are sought based on the content analysis of posts published from October 1 to December 1, 2020, on three feminist Instagram accounts with the widest reach (measured by the number of post recipients).
