Summary/Abstract: Francis Fukuyama (born 1952) needs no special presentation; this American political philosopher became famous around the world with the thesis of “the end of history”. In this article the author discusses and criticizes the concept of Francis Fukuyama’s thymos. According to the author, Fukuyama simplifies reality when, from the concept of thymos, he demonstrates the transition of states towards democracy, because this practice is unjustified.
