Conceptual, organizational, and legal breakthroughs (transformations) in the theory and practice of special education (with particular emphasis on inclusive education)

Summary/Abstract: Solstice is a category that nowadays in times of noticeable changeability and fluidity in the area of social life, axiology established by past generations, applicable norms and principles of interpersonal communication, adopts new fields of meaning, not only of designational but also practical. It is often identified with the category of transformation. It is exemplified in theoretical concepts and specific activities in significant dimensions and aspects of the functioning of human civilization, as well as individual human life. Special pedagogy, referring its scientific interests to the area of supporting people with disabilities, in a special and appropriate way to the subject of interest, receives and adjusts the activities it performs to the observed historical, historical and cultural trends, as well as challenges of the future. Therefore, the issue of the turning point in the current considerations on the essence and mission of special education, as a scientific subdiscipline of pedagogy, and the possible exemplification of the current findings on the area of functioning of institutions providing broadly understood assistance to people with disabilities in our country, acquires new meanings, both from the theoretical and implementation point of view.
