The Archetype of the Hero in the Novel “Tobacco” by Dimitar Dimov

Summary/Abstract: The article examines three of the characters (Pavel, Lila and Dinko) in Dimitar Dimov’s novel “Tobacco” (first and second versions) as embodiments of Jung’ Hero archetype. The interpretation of these images from the perspective of the Archetype of the Hero gives us the opportunity to analyze in detail the specifics of each of them as well as their common (mythological) basis, which Dimov, in response to the spirit of his time, travested socio-politically: through their connection with communist ideology.
