The Situation of Households in Poland and Ukraine: A Comparative Analysis

Summary/Abstract: The study presents a comparison of selected aspects of the situation of households in Poland and Ukraine. Based on the statistical data of Polish Central Statistical Office and the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, some economic indicators concerning both countries, average monthly income and expenditure of an average household, average values of food baskets and propensity to save, as well as objects of investment most frequently chosen by households, have been compared. Thus, the aim consists in comparing the aforementioned elements reflecting the economic situation of households of one country with the optimal counterparts found in another.
