Summary/Abstract: Poetry has always been the perfect way of expression, taking into account the fact that it is contained by a genre that is very permissive. Nora Iuga’s writing is beyond the patterns so well known in the Romanian literary field. Her poetry is a denouncement of the monotonous reality; the poems contain powerful and voluptuous images, and are situated in the twilight zone between a playful tone and a tragic one. The language is the one that lights new perceptions upon the existence, and the irony and sensuality melt the reality with fiction. The literary discourse consists of biographic elements, grotesque descriptions, journal fragments and the general impression of a décor brought from the circus, where each voice has its unique approach towards reality. The lyric voice tastes the freedom of manner and expression; the originality of the writer is given by her volcanic poems that seem to come to the surface in order to change the reality and the reader’s perceptions upon what they perceive as normal. Her writing manages to break down various barriers and stereotypes. Nora Iuga remains young in her writing, as she constantly innovates and experiments.
