Summary/Abstract: The present study aims at exploring myths in Louise Erdrich’s ”The Antelope Wife” highlighting some of the most well-known Native American myths that are often portrayed in all kinds of western media these days, no matter if we talk about cinema, games or books. The novel takes great focus on the myth of the windigo, in correlation with periods of starvation, used as a tool to further emphasize the hard times Natives Americans faced, but also showing their connection to nature, their relationship with animals, how the passing of knowledge is made and also the power of the spirit names in the Ojibwa culture.
