The Importance and Role of the Word of God in the Preparation of Seminarians for the Priesthood on the Basis of the Document 'The Way of Formation of Presbyters in Poland. Ratio institutionis sacerdotalis pro Polonia' of 2021

Summary/Abstract: This article deals with the Word of God (in the broad context of the term - study of Scripture, in-depth prayer with the biblical text, and implementation) in relation to the new Ratio institutionis sacerdotalis pro Polonia of 2021. All numbers of the document in which the legislator addresses the indicated topic were analyzed. The goal of the study is to demonstrate what role the Word of God should play in the seminary formation of an alumna of a higher seminary. It was shown that the Word of God - pondered in the spirit of the tradition of the Church as well as being studied - should become the basis and foundation of formation, such as vocational (pre-seminary) formation, seminary formation and permanent formation.
