Summary/Abstract: Our study deals with these fierce women, the Amazons, in terms of their fighting qualities, as they were some of the best warriors of Antiquity, present not only in the worldwide conflict, as well as epic, the Iliad, but also in other episodes of battle or conflict with Greek heroes and more. The Amazons were not a mere myth, they were equal in battle preparation, training, and skill to all the famous warriors of antiquity, they were not inferior to them, proving that gender is not an obstacle to fighting skills. They were the Trojans’ allies in their conflict with the Greeks, fighting side by side with their greatest warriors, including the best product of the Hoplite revolution, Achilles. Although they lost the battle with Achilles, what is important is their ability to fight, the fact that they were the opponents of this absolute warrior, invincible at the time, who defeated the best of the Trojan warriors, Hector. The social organization of the Amazons was the secret of these elite fighters, they had a militaristic monarchy, where military education was the basic occupation, from an early age, and the head of state was also the best soldier. Their crystallization into a very well-organized state, even if this state was built on the pillars of matriarchy, in the world of early antiquity where the tribe was the main form of organization, transforms these fighters into the equals of the Greeks, proving that they are also part of the amazing and great Indo-European warrior civilization.
