Summary/Abstract: Art & Public Space: Monumental and Decorative Art Projects by Plovdiv Artists from the Collections of Plovdiv Public Library is a project that showcases the Project Proposals for Works of Monumental and Decorative Art in Synthesis with Architecture collection through a bilingual album, exhibition, and a website with city tour rout of the realized artworks.This paper presents a project initiated by “Ivan Vazov” National Library, which aims to raise awareness of Plovdiv’s socialist-era mural artworks and to rethink the essence of their presence in the city. The proposal of the “Ivan Vazov” National Library – Plovdiv for a project titled “Art and public space: mural and decorative art projects by Plovdiv artists from the collections of Plovdiv National Library”, was chosen for funding by the Plovdiv 2019 Foundation.
