Summary/Abstract: The publication examines issues related to the nomination of a manuscript from the collections of the Oriental Collections Department in the “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” National Library for inclusion in the International Memory of the World Register of UNESCO.Masnavi-yi ma‘navi (shelf mark 3500) by Jalāl ad-Dīn Muhammad b. Muhammad Husain al-Balkhi, Rūmī is the only manuscript by Rumi kept in the manuscript collections of the National Library in Bulgaria. The Masnavi-yi ma‘navi from XVI-th century comprises a late copy of the thirteenth century original. The book is the only preserved masterpiece of Mawlana in the rich collection of old manuscripts in the funds of the “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” National library.Procedural issues related to the nomination are commented on, as well as the place of the Masnavi-yi ma‘navi transcripts in the world cultural heritage.
