In the 12th century the major po-litical problem of the Georgian state was the final strengthening of the country. David IV the Builder (1089-1125) carried out important reforms, such as reor-ganization of the army, ecclesiastical reform as well as the judicial and financial reforms. He took an important step for cultural development of the country. He joined the cities of Samshvilde (1110), Rustavi (1115), Gishi (1117) Lore (1118) and others to the country. David resettled 40 thousand families of Kipchaks in Georgia and, increased and strengthened his army. In 1121, David IV the Builder used tactical and technical novelties in the Battle of Didgori, and with his army of 55,600 warriors defeated the coalition army of Muslims. In 1122 he conquered Tbilisi and moved the capital of Georgia from Kutaisi to Tbilisi. The victory in the Battle of Didgori was of greatest international importance.
