Summary/Abstract: In reborn Poland, awakening interest in the region was vital in shaping social attitudes. Edu- cation was an important area of regional activities. The article contributes to research on borderland regionalism in the Second Republic of Poland. The subject of the analysis was the content of publications published in the second half of the 1930s by members of the Students’ Sightseeing Club of the Marshal Józef Piłsudski State Middle School in Pinsk. The young authors used professional literature and various sources, and they confronted this knowledge with their observations and accounts of people encountered during trips around Polesie. Reading the content of the texts leads to the conclusion that middle school students perceived the Pole- shuks (also known as Polesians) as a primitive community and Polesie as a kind of open-air museum. Their attitude to the region was conditioned primarily by school teachings and state propaganda. The issues presented here may constitute a starting point for broader research on sightseeing and regionalism in Polesie in the interwar period. The discussed publications issued by tourists from Pinsk may supplement the content of general studies.
