Summary/Abstract: The media battle for Moldavia involving Bucharest and Moscow overlaps the supposedly electoral circumstances, thus targeting the spheres of influence of all the four actors involved in the equation: Russian Federation, Romania, the European Union and Moldavia. The sympathy showed by the Romanian mass-media for the events taking place in Chisinau was eventually well rewarded by some analysis publicized in the leading journals in Moscow, all stressing that the only one standing in the way of the unification of Moldavia with Romania would be the European Union.
