Summary/Abstract: Our approach aims to explore what lies behind the rare words (all starting with the letter S in the original) which have been chosen by the contemporary prose writer Grațian Székely as titles for his novels. While reading Sarbacan (Blowpipe), Scotoma and Străfin (an invented term, justaposing old and fine) one can discover the necessary clues for the significances to be revealed. The reader thus enters an intellectual game with unexpected twists and complex characters, which invite to be psychologically analysed. Both storyteller and world builder, Grațian Székely writes fiction which can be read as parables.
