Summary/Abstract: The present article was conceived as a concentrated introduction to the theory of lexical-semantic fields. The extraordinary development in recent decades of studies in this field implies a particular variety of theoretical and methodological orientations that it reflects. The understanding of theoretical concepts allows a better understanding of them, providing a series of clues as to their area of relevance, their mode of operation, their unclear aspects and their practical effectiveness.
