Summary/Abstract: The five published German documents refer to the 1848 Revolution from the Principality of Moldavia. Four of them are the Bukovina Administration chief’s accounts, addressed to the superior forums from Lemberg. The fifth is the June 1848 account, belonging to the Prussian Consul in Iaşi, addressed to Prussia’s Ambassador from the Ottoman Empire’s capital, whereby the most notable Moldavian boyars’ and clerics’ memoir was forwarded to the suzerain power and the great European powers. The documents bring new information concerning the evolution of events from Moldavia near, during and after the famous March 27th / April 8th 1848 Moldavian revolutionists’ assembly from Petersburg Hotel, in Iaşi, dwelling on the repressive measures drawn towards the revolutionary movement by the ruling prince, Michael Sturdza, as well as the permanent threat of intervention by the Russian troops beyond the Pruth, designed to choke any disturbance of the institutional order.
