Summary/Abstract: The aim of own studies was to search for family etiology of destructive and constructive coping strategies of youth in a social conflict situation inherent in a coping strategy model presented by their parents in a conflict situation. The study made use of a proprietary questionnaire to test the parents coping strategies in social conflict situations in a child’s perception (SRwSK) and a proprietary questionnaire to test the coping strategies of youth in a social conflict situation (KSMK). Empirical studies involved 911 gymnasium class students (486 girls, 425 boys) aged 13–15. In light of the carried out studies it was stated that the modulating process plays a significant role in the genesis of destructive and constructive way of coping in a social conflict situation that is learned by an adolescent through observing and frequent contact with parents who manifest such a way of coping in a social conflict.
