Summary/Abstract: Despite the fact that many researchers do not accept mobile phone overuse as an addiction, they all agree that the phenomenon has widely spread out over recent years and it is a real problem mainly among young people. The main purpose of the presented article was to describe the results of the study assessing correlations between sociodemographic, individual and relational correlates of mobile phone use and its overuse. The following variables were explored: mobile phone use and its overuse, loneliness, life satisfaction, the quality of relationships with parents, siblings and peers and sociodemographic measures as sex, age, educational level and financial situation. 677 participants, aged 14–30 years, participated in the study. The results suggest that there are some significant connections between sociodemographic, individual and relational variables and characteristics of mobile phone use and overuse.
