State and Impact of Investments from the Application of Safety Measures at Work in Large and Medium-Sized Enterprises in the Republic of North Macedonia

Summary/Abstract: The basic task of safety at work is to carry out work activities in a working environment in safe conditions. In order to establish occupational safety in an adequate way, it is necessary to constantly invest in this area, so as to reduce the danger of risks to the lowest possible extent for employees. In modern conditions, investments in the field of occupational safety represent one of the most important and topical issues. Investments in the field of occupational health and safety are of great importance, because they enable the achievement of certain effects, both in reducing negative immediate consequences and negative economic consequences due to unfavourable working conditions, i.e. increasing labour productivity and the quality of the company’s business economy. Investments in occupational health and safety are aimed at preserving the health and working ability of workers, as well as at improving the business performance of companies. In this sense, the paper points out the importance of investments in occupational safety from the perspective of ensuring safe working conditions and improving the business performance of the company.
