The monasteries from Bistrița-Năsăud county. Part II- Monastic history between the XVth-XVIIIth centuries

Summary/Abstract: The current article is the second part of a review initiated in the previous number of this study, regarding the monasteries from Bistrița-Năsăud county, in which the history of monastic life of these places between the XVth-XVIIIth centuries is presented. On the basis of existing volumes the wealth and diversity of monastic life during this period and the devastating action of „uniatism”, which destroyed a lot of such places is put forward. The importance of this study lies in its presentation of an important episode of local history, insufficiently exploited so far in historiography.
