Summary/Abstract: In the first half of the nineteenth century the Ottoman Empire tried to implement reforms according to the European model. Their implementation on the territory of the Bosnian eyalet was met with great resistance, which was particularly pronounced by eminent personalities, ie. ajans and captains. The paper presents the personality of Ali-pasha Fidahić and his attitude towards the reforms based on the original material. Ali-pasha was on the side of the Sultan during abolition of janissaries. As for further reforms undertaken by Sublime Porte, he was one of theirs main opponents, which was especially confirmed during the Posavina revolt from year 1836.
