Summary/Abstract: The deregulation of the real estate professions that took place in 2014 opened up new opportunities for the state and its administration to cooperate with various types of professional organizations that have taken over from the state, either fully or partially, the task of controlling the proper practice of the real estate professions. Due to their tradition and history, which sometimes dates back to the 18th century, professional organizations operating in the area of real estate and property in Great Britain will be used as basis for my considerations. The aim of this article is to present the results of a study examining the legal bases for the functioning and competencies of professional organizations of a public nature (professional organizations), as well as those of a private nature (associations) vis-à-vis their impact on the carrying out of the real estate and property professions. This article argues that organizations functioning in the form of public professional organizations (or associations) are entities which – if their legal provisions and internal regulations are properly shaped – exercise an effective control over the access to and pursuit of professions related to real estate and property.
