Summary/Abstract: Through this research, we aimed to gather as much information as possible about the professions of school librarian and documentary teacher and to highlight their professional profile, basic and continuous education, the work space and the facilities available to them for performing their profession, activities and role that they have in the formal and non-formal education of students. The analysis based on the research results showed a deep need to modernize the school libraries / CDI and the profession of school librarian / documentary teacher. The need to select the correct information for students is perhaps more necessary than ever if we consider the large amount of data they receive on all types of media. Radical changes are required in all aspects: the organization and endowment of school libraries / CDI and the adaptation of the professions of school librarian / documentary teacher to the requirements of the day.
