Professional success in the context of acquiring competences of the future

Summary/Abstract: The presented text deals with the issues of professional success, competences, emotional competences and the so-called competence of the future. On the basis of the content published in selected scientific texts, communications and reports, it was found that the respondents most often understood professional success in the following categories: “knowledge and skills”, “solid, reliable work”, “education”, “work that is passion”, “high earnings ”,“ combining work with traveling ”. The development of competences, including emotional competences, is one of the factors contributing to the achievement of professional success, and having the competences of the future will allow companies employing employees to develop properly. Educational institutions should, in the process of upbringing and education, take care of the systematic development of competences of students and high school students.
