Summary/Abstract: In july 2017, a new Criminal Code was passed in Republika Srpska which, to a significant extent, varies from existing solutions in other criminal laws of Bosnia and Herzegovina, i.e. Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Brčko District. One of the most significant novelties is a new system of criminal sanctions and, amongst them, a new penal system, as well as rules for imposing criminal sanctions. This Paper is about the concept, elements, characteristics, purpose, type and imposing of criminal sanctions in Republika Srpska in accordance with new legal solutions.
