Memory studies – a Multidisciplinary Journey in Search of a Method

Summary/Abstract: The article addresses the topic of memory studies in the context of research methods used in the social sciences and humanities. The purpose of the text is to character¬ize key methodological approaches in memory studies. Among the methods used in memory studies, interview and oral history are described, moreover memory stud¬ies in psychology, the methodological dimensions of memory places and Holocaust testimonies are characterized. The article draws attention to the need to initiate inter¬disciplinary communication on method and methodology in memory studies, and to innovate the research approaches used.
