Summary/Abstract: Psalm 126/127 has a series of translation problems, especially visible in the current Romanian Synodal Psalter. Besides secondary issues, such as punctuation, versification and certain problematic words the main issue boils down to a resides in a point of divergence between the Septuagint and the Masoretic Text. The Synodal version, which adopts here the Hebrew reading, takes over the vulnerabilities of this reading as well – which lead to an alteration of the tone and meaning, and even to the suppression of the Psalm, by its disjunction into two independent poems. On the other hand, the Septuagint reading is historically and contextually supported and it ensures the unity of the Psalm.
