NINA CASSIAN - A FEMALE FIGURE OF SOCIALIST REALISM

Summary/Abstract: My initial plan in writing this work was to present a briefly point of view regarding Nina Cassian's poetry from the realist socialism period but also from a later period. Nina Cassian's poetry is characterized by a disintegration of temperance patterns, becoming one even more grandiose, going as far as desire to face always the danger, to exceed her limits, to face the unknown and to confront it without any risk of imminent danger. Firstly, I briefly analyzed some of the most important volumes, the most important of Nina Cassian's volumes referring to the historical epoch in which they appeared and the way in which they were receiving by the critics and by the public. Secondly, I brought to the fore the memorial volume of Nina Cassian entitled "Memoria ca zestre", discovering on this occasional the fact that behind a perfect poet and behind a special verses creator hides a real and authentic diary writer. This journal contains three volumes divided chronologically from 1948 to 2003, the first volume starting with the second volume Nina Cassian begins a recollection of the facts from 1954, but on the other hand, during the diary there are some updates where the diary continues with the year 2004. The third volume presents the events during 1985-2005. The reason why the author in the years of youth when she almost has 24 years started to write this kind of diary, a nonconformist diary is because she wants to leave to posterity a significant document from the years of realist socialism, of communism. The diary contains intimate stories, most of the time about Nina Cassian's life with her poetry, censors and the inquision of communist times. She doesn't hesitate to reveal in her diary her great loves.
