Summary/Abstract: The present study wants to highlight the main aspects regarding the theme, the semantic extension of the motifs, but also the symbolism of certain key elements, found in the volumes of poems of Ștefan Augustin Doinaș. The chapter Thematic influences highlights through explanations the author's choice for the expressionist literature. Further subsections main themes, semantic extension motifs, and symbol as a projection of the metapoetic context seek exposure to the most important themes, motifs and lyrical symbols mention of lyric opera with quotations drawn from this author. Elements taken from Greek mythology particularly, symbols borrowed from various cultures, themes with tendencies of self-retreat, of escaping from the everyday life and the plutonic spirit define his work.
