Summary/Abstract: In today's world, where informatics and technology are applied intensively, the use of social media has become an undeniable part of education, just like in every field. In this context, we see the effects of social media in accounting education as well. This effect sometimes appears as a source and sometimes as a sharing. The educational intention in accessing social media is the main element of the study. This study was designed to investigate the effects of social media on learning, as well as the perception of educational internet use self-efficacy and social media use of students who take accounting courses. The research, in which the survey method was preferred, was carried out with accounting students at Firat University. In the analysis of the data, descriptive statistics, factor analysis, reliability analysis, independent sample t-Test, and the ANOVA analysis methods were used. As a result of the study, it was seen that students preferred social media mostly for entertainment purposes. On the other hand, the perception of self-efficacy in educational internet use has been seen as more common among students who use the social network for educational purposes, 4th-grade students and business administration students.
