Summary/Abstract: This paper examines some Bulgarian phrases, idioms, proverbs, and sayings related to being cunning. The linguocultural analysis points to a close relationship between intellect and cunning in the Bulgarian linguistic picture of the world. The research also shows that the Bulgarian phrases, idioms, proverbs, and sayings related to being cunning have mainly positive connotations in the Bulgarian mentality.
