ACTUAL ROMANIAN SOCIETY AND THE STATE DEFENCE (1990-2023)

Summary/Abstract: The author presents some negative aspects (with hard-to-dispute arguments) related to the way the act of governance was carried out in the 33 years that have passed since December '89. Some assets of Romania are highlighted, related to the population, material and financial resources, the human and professional quality of the citizens, as well as their will to live in a state of law, without being humiliated and robbed by internal political actors (too many and too greedy) and by some from outside the country, arrived to make money and many unscrupulous. In this complicated context, the serious problems, in the opinion of the author, of preparing the country to defend itself militarily, if necessary, are also presented. The war in Ukraine launched by the Russian Federation on February 24 2022, further highlighted some political, economic and military weaknesses, which have become much more visible and worrying for the current Romanian society. The responsibility of all the politicians who populated the Presidency, the Parliament and the Governments during the 33 years is highlighted.
