The offence of defamation with the use of internet in polish criminal law

Summary/Abstract: The paper addresses the issue of the defamation in the Polish criminal law, with a special attention paid to acts committed through the mass media, Internet included. The authors consider that this special tool creates new possibilities for perpetrators of defamation and also new risks as it makes even more difficult to obtain an adjustment of false information from the person who has diffused it than when committed not via Internet.
