The Search of Glass Art Expression in the Creation of Valda Verikaitė

Summary/Abstract: Glass artist Valda Verikaitė is known as a participant of numerous exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad. The artist creates not only glass design, but also original works from which the most notable are sculptures and conceptual compositions. The works probe the problematics of human identity, social networks, ecology, and cultural heritage. To capture these commonly occurring themes, the artist uses a personal outlook, original aspects, language of associations and symbols, and incorporates art research into the process. A special knowledge of materials and techniques facilitates the shaping of intriguing art-work forms, which create highly suggestive and aesthetic plasticity in the author’s creation. We know V. Verikaitė as a restless modernist, constantly searching for new, original ways of artistic expression and interesting creative decisions.
