Summary/Abstract: The paper is dealing with one of the most important photographic studios from Sibiu in the interwar period, the studio „Guggenberger–Mairovits” run by two very gifted ladies. Ida Guggenberger and Jolan Mairovits practised especially the photographical portrait in a new and up to date vision. They were invited in 1921 to Sinaia to take photos from the Romanian royal family, photos which became „the official pictures of the Coronation of King Ferdinand and Queen Mary. In 1923 they were honored with the title „photographers of the Romanian Royal family”. Between 1921 to 1932 the ladies from Sibiu were often invited to Sinaia, Bran and Cotroceni to immortalize memorable moments in the life of the royal familiy. In 1932 they moved to Bucharest and run the studio in the main street of the capital, the Calea Victoriei, being even closer to Palace. The local newspaper from Sibiu / Hermannstadt, Siebenbürgisch-Deutsches Tageblatt related always full of proud about the appreciation „Guggenberger–Mairovits” had enjoyed.
