Summary/Abstract: The article aims to indicate briefly the contemporary onomastics’ tasks, which are concerned with two general onomastic sets that form resources of the proper names developed during the historical naming processes and the modern onomastics. These onomastics fields require an implementation of cumulative methods of research among which there is also a diachronic point of view. The view allows to express specific character of naming (portrayal, onimic) and communicative in reference to forms of the onimic older, newer and latest levels. It enables researchers to enrich knowledge of language history. The elements of this knowledge should be considered in educational programmes.
