Summary/Abstract: In view of the specific spatial organization of a biographical text, the article addresses the role of cities in the life story of renowned people. It points to a close link between one’s biography and the places they stay. Cities affect the construction of the subject of biography, which in turn promotes their identification. Theoretical premises have been specified using the analysis of the image of Galicia and Lemberg, which are constituents of the literary biography of composer, teacher and pianist Franz Xaver Mozart (Mozart in Galicia by Dieter Kühn, 2008). The intertextually reconstructed images of Galicia and Lemberg in the times of Austria-Hungary become an important place for remembering the artist, whose name and creative legacy have been written into the history of Lviv (Ukraine).
