Summary/Abstract: Bilingualism is a spread linguistic phenomenon which has developed a lot in the last years; even if the concept exists from the 13th century, the impact it produces on various domains (psychology, sociology, linguistics, didactics) is very important because it creates a powerful string between identity, culture, language and communication. In the context of nowadays globalization, being a bilingual (plurilingual) person represents the normality of our society and not the status of monolingual which is considered more safe because there are no code-switching, no mixture of the languages (which are considered to be totally normal for the bilinguals, an important step in the process of learning a language, other than the mother tongue). The children who are bilinguals must be considered special because they possess an unique skill (to pass from one language to another without any effort).
